When I posted about my dog’s newly developed lymphoma, I expected a few “I’m sorry’s” and a few “Be strong’ s” What I didn’t expect was for Canine-Bliss to come out of nowhere and give my dog a new lease on life.
I was born and raised in Chicago. In 2001 I relocated to Arizona, where I lasted until 2008 to which I returned to Chicago.
Shortly after returning to Chicago my wife and I visited a local dog rescue facility, and discovered that they had a pitbull rescue program.
We fell in love with a extremely docile Georgia red nose pitbull whose given name was "KILLER", and who we promptly renamed "Lennox".
Lennox has always been an old soul, and he was my sole companion while my wife worked evenings. He came everywhere with me and loved nothing better than driving around in my truck with his head out the window.
Fast forward to 2010 when my son was born and the truck rides became less frequent, but Lennox took the new role of surrogate caretaker of this new human in the pack.
In August we noticed that Lennox started to obsessively eat grass and vomit. We did our internet research but took him to our vet just to make sure everything was ok.
The vet came him a clean bill of health, but shortly after, he would vomit nearly every time he ate.
We stopped dog food and put him on a all organic diet.
The vomiting seemed to become less frequent, but still present.
His weight plummeted, and we brought him back to the vet for blood work and stool sample. Both tests came back fine, and we were sent to a specialist.
$2000 later and he was diagnosed with Lymphoma.
The vet insisted on immediate chemo, and we chose to decline.
My brother had suggested CBD oil which I knew nothing about.
We found some black market CBD and his vomiting subsided.
I had posted about my dog's diagnosis on Instagram and was contacted by Canine Bliss.
They sent me a bottle to try.
The vet said that without chemo, our dog wouldn't make it to Christmas.
2 months of CBD and not only has Lennox made it well past Christmas, he's put on 19 pounds which is actually 3 lbs. more than his healthy weight.
I'm not delusional, and I know Lennox's days are numbered, but I am convinced that Canine Bliss has been pivotal in prolonging Lennox's time with us.
Granted, he's lethargic, but he's not in any pain, and loves nothing more than eating pizza and cheeseburgers and falling asleep in my lap.
Thank you Canine-Bliss for giving us time and hope.
