“Can my dog overdose on full-spectrum hemp-based CBD products?”

Hemp and cannabis plants contains dozens of cannabinoids, which are compounds that work with the endocannabinoid system, an integral part of the central nervous system of all animals (except insects). The most well known cannabinoid for a long time has been tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC….

...but as more scientific research is conducted involving cannabis/hemp and its ability to be used as a treatment for ailments, more people are learning about other cannabinoids, especially cannabidiol (CBD). The last couple of years interest in CBD has grown exponentially, as it’s been featured on numerous television episodes showing how well it works in treating people and their pets who suffer from epilepsy, anxiety, and other ailments.”What is the difference between THC and CBD?” is a question raised often in regards to hemp products, and I’d like to provide insight. The most important thing that I try to get people to grasp is that THC will get you or your pup “high” (assuming you consume enough of it) and CBD will not. THC has psychoactive properties that affect your brain and give you a ‘buzz’ while CBD does not. Cannabidiol — CBD— is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich hemp doesn’t get one high makes it an appealing treatment option for pet owners seeking anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-anxiety, antipsychotic, and/or anti-spasm effects without troubling lethargy or dysphoria.

So, in conclusion, hemp-based products, like Canine-Bliss, contain only trace amounts of THC, and are primarily made up of CBD and other beneficial non psychoactive cannabinoids. There is no need to worry about your dog overdosing, getting high, or being addicted, which is great news for those of us who have been on the fence about this type of treatment.
